Nailing the fundamentals –Golf Swing Profile


Golf is a game that can be learned once you get a hold on the swing basics of the sport. No matter whether you are to begin to learn or you have been practicing for some time. Before moving forward, you must know that the golf swing basics are opposite for the lefties that are straight for the righties, something you can learn from a golf training aid. Let us now move on to the basics of golf swings like golf hook, shank, golf slice, fat shots, topped shots, and thin shots.

Position of the ball
First, the ball should be just inside the left instep of the foot to play a drive. Second, it should be forward of the center in case irons are to be played. In the second case, for longer 3, 4 and 5 irons, the ball should be a little bit more forward.

Gripping the ball
The golf ball is best into grip when the swing is good. So you need to hold the golf club rightly to make a good swing. Two golf grips are mainly used these days. These are interlock grip and overlap grip. Baseball grip or ten-finger grip is no more in use these days. In case of an interlocking grip, you interlock your pinky finger right hand through your index finger on the left. And in case of the overlap grip, you place the pinky finger on the right hand between your left hand’s middle and index fingers.


These two grips are widely used. They are very popular and are used extensively by the golf professionals in the fields.

The right posture
A few points should be noted to keep the right posture for a smooth golf swing. Let your feet be shoulder width apart. Arms can hang naturally and knees a little bit flexed. Keep hands just beneath the chin line and hinge the upper body from the hips.
